What do you want to be when you grow up?

If you’re looking for a right home near the right school, you can now find ‘School Checker’ on every Rightmove listing. To celebrate, we went to find out what our Rightmove kids think of big school and what they want to be when they grow up.

What did you want to be when you grow up? We asked some of our Marketing Team about their ambitions as a child … did any one end up close? Take a look below…

Colleen, our Trade Marketing Manager:

When I was younger I wanted to be Wonder Women and save the world and have a cool outfit (obviously!)

Anna, our Social Content Manager:

When I was little, I wanted to be a physiotherapist, so I could go and see my beloved Bolton Wanderers play every week from the best seats in the house. Unfortunately, I got a C in GCSE Science… which killed that dream!

Megan, our Marketing Assistant:

When I was younger I always wanted to be a ballerina! I never used to take my ballet dress off!

Steve, our Graphic Designer:

I wanted to be a musketeer!

Farhaad, our SEO Manager:

I wanted to be a fighter pilot for the navy, however this dream was crushed at the age of 9 when I started wearing glasses! I wanted to do this as I was always fascinated by the jets!

Sarah, our Consumer Marketing Manager:

I wanted to work for NASA in the control centre. Had no desire to be an astronaut, I just wanted to be in the control centre for some reason. Didn’t work out because A-level physics was harder than I’d anticipated.

Claire, our Brand Manager:

When I was younger I wanted to be a famous artist, my grandpa was a keen painter and he would let me use his posh paints whenever I visited. I loved painting and my works can be found hanging in various family members’ homes (they probably feel they have to keep them up!).

Tom, our Community Manager:

When I was little I wanted to be a Park Ranger because I loved ‘Animals of Farthing Wood’ and I used to collect the magazines about all the animals and nature.

Laura, our Webinar Co-ordinator:

I wanted to be a mermaid as I was fascinated with under the sea and truly believed (still do) that forks can brush hair, fishes and crabs can talk and all my friends have crazy beautiful hair and sparkly fins.

Lawrence, our Graphic Designer:

When I was little I wanted to be a fireman (massive Fireman Sam fan!)

Martin, our Marketing Executive:

I also wanted to be a fireman, because at the time I wasn’t scared of heights (that came later!) and I could drive a big red truck!

Steve, our Trade Marketing Manager:

I wanted to be the Haribo Kid. As his double when I was a kid, it seemed like an easy career choice.
